A lovely Saint Brigid's cross with an intricate Celtic weave design surrounding. Antique finished solid pewter.

Measures 2" x 2" in size.

The original St. Brigid's cross was constructed from reeds found by the river in Kildare, Ireland, and was meant to bring protection. This depiction bears the same semblance with intricate details crafted in pewter.

Brooch has a bail so that is can be worn as a pendant as well as a brooch. A lovely gift!

PEWTER Made of solid lead free pewter -

Pewter has been used in jewelry making for pewter does NOT RUST OR TARNISH and will last a lifetime. Pewter was used for decorative metal items in the Ancient World by the Egyptians and later the Romans, and came into extensive use in Europe during the Middle Ages - it was once considered the metal of kings because of its beauty and expense!

Item came as described and in a timely manner. The seller answered messages in a timely manner. The only thing is this seller is considerably more expensive than other sellers for the same item.
