Solid Golden Bronze
Replica of historical Viking brooch from Trollaskogur on Iceland.
This Viking Age brooch in the Urnes style is a replica of an 11th century brooch found in Trollaskogur in Iceland.
The Trollaskogur brooch shows a large animal with a curved neck and clearly recognisable front feet, whose body ends in two tails. There are also two snakes coiled around the animal's neck and feet.
To this day, the Trollaskogur brooch is considered one of the most beautiful surviving brooches in the Urnese style
This brooch is a magnificent example of Viking jewellery in the animal style of the late Viking Age, the Urnes style named after the famous stave church in the Norwegian village of Ornes.
This beautiful piece of Viking jewelry clearly shows a beast in battle with a serpent, which is generally understood as an early Christian symbol for the battle between good and evil.
