This Ode to Edinburgh chunky mug is a tongue in cheek celebration of Scotland’s slightly windswept but altogether fabulous capital city with artwork by Scottish artist Gillian Kyle.

The poem on the mug reads:

"Ode to Edinburgh

Oh Edinburgh, Auld Reekie, sits proudly on the Forth.
Our salt ’n’ saucy capital, the Athens of the North.

She’s Harry Potter’s birthplace, she’s DI Rebus’ patch.
The Festival’s a belter, Hogmanay is hard to match.

Stroll up the Royal Mile to see the Castle’s mighty rock!
Then marvel at the legend of the world’s most loyal dog.

Oh cultured, cobbled city, the old town and the new,
You may be slightly windswept but there’s no place quite like you!"
