*Epona - Goddess of Horses in Celtic Mythology
Epona, the "Divine Mare" goddess of horses and fertility, was uniquely venerated by both Celts and Romans. Born of horse and human, her worship spread widely during the Iron Age. Horses held sacred status in Celtic culture—nobles were buried with them, their meat wasn't consumed, and Epona's blessing legitimized kingship. Her protective shrines adorned stables throughout the ancient Celtic world.
