Solid Sterling Silver pendant measures 1 1/4" x 1 1/4" in size on an 18" chain.
The most beautifully detailed Triple Rabbits necklace in solid sterling silver. We loved creating this extra special design with its elegant design. Intricate Celtic Knot work and celestial moons create a unique piece that celebrates Celtic culture and nature.
The three hares dance around a central crescent moon and each hare's body contains a Celtic spiral - the highly polished design stands up (bas-relief design) with the background textured and oxidized to help the design stand out.
The back of the pendant is a lovely satin finish with the 925 stamp.
Symbolism of the Triple Hare
This is an ancient motif going back thousands of years and used by many world cultures. The symbol appears in sacred sites from the Middle and Far East, to the churches of Devon, England (known locally as 'Tinners' Rabbits'). The oldest examples of the 3 hares (or rabbits) have been found in cave temples in China, dating from the 6th and 7th centuries. Rabbits are seen as good luck signs in China, representing peace and tranquility.
The 3 hares are widely associated with Christianity, representing the Holy Trinity (father, son and holy spirit) and in Judaism they are commonly found in synagogues (particularly in Germany). Alongside this it has been used as a mystical symbol associated with fertility, the lunar cycle and the Goddess of nature.
