Handmade original St. David of Scotland wooden doll ornament. Perfect for the Christmas Tree. Bring out on his feast day or for a Novena. Gift for a birthday or sacrament (Baptism, First Communion, Confirmation, Holy Orders, Marriage) celebration. Teacher, priest, grandparent gift.

Born in 1085 the youngest son of Scotland’s virtuous queen, St. Margaret, he was succeeded by his brother to the Scottish throne in 1124. His friend, St. Aelred, abbot of the English monastery of Rievaulx, recounts David’s religious devotion and generosity to the poor. From his riches he endowed the founding of several dioceses and many monasteries. He expressed profound remorse for an ill-conceived and ill-fated invasion of England he had ordered on behalf of his niece. He also suffered the premature death of his only son. In 1153 when nearing his own death and having received the final sacraments, David devoted himself to reciting the Psalms with those at his bedside.

Feast Day: May 24

Made of wood, felt, ribbon, and handmade accessories. Includes tag and card with Saint's biography and description. Approximately 4" tall.
