Feast Day: September 29

One of the three archangels, he serves as a messenger for God in the Old and the New Testaments. In the Old Testament, he appears to the prophet Daniel to explain his visions. In the New Testament, he first appears to Zacharias, the father of John the Baptist (Luke 1:13). After Elizabeth conceived and was six months pregnant, Gabriel is sent by God in his most famous role at The Annunciation to the Virgin Mary.
